A walkthrough of connecting Intervals.icu and starting a coaching conversation using recent activities.
0:00 / 0:51
In this 51-second screen recording, an athlete asks Primed Coach to connect their Intervals.icu account, taps Continue on the connection card, and approves access on Intervals.icu's authorisation screen. Once connected, Coach reads the athlete profile (FTP 250 W, threshold heart rate 161 bpm, max heart rate 170 bpm, resting heart rate 60 bpm, weight 85 kg) and summarises three recent Zwift group rides (~79 TSS each, average heart rate 128–134 bpm in the aerobic endurance zone) while historical training series finish syncing in the background, then recommends active recovery or a light routine for today and asks what goal or event is next.
THE COACHING CONVERSATION
Bring your questions, too.
Your activity history is a starting point. The conversation adds the context of your week, your goals and how you feel.
Example questions
“What stands out in my recent training?”
“Should I push or ease today?”
“How can I fit training around this week?”

VERIFIED INTEGRATION DETAILS
What comes across?
Primed requests standard OAuth 2.0 permissions on Intervals.icu. What syncs depends on the permissions you approve and the upstream source of each activity.
Imported into Primed
Activity summaries (180-day initial import + live webhooks): Sport type, moving and elapsed duration, distance, elevation gain, average/normalised/max power, average/max heart rate, cadence, Grade-Adjusted Pace (GAP), session RPE, lap durations, and Intervals training load. Your most recent 28 days sync first for immediate context while the remaining 180-day window backfills, and new workouts arrive via webhook.
On-demand streams & interval splits in Coach chat: When you ask about a specific session or date range, Coach can query activity details, interval execution splits, power/heart-rate/pace zone distributions, and high-resolution time-series streams (power, heart rate, cadence, speed, and altitude).
Daily wellness (180-day initial import + live webhooks): Resting heart rate, HRV (RMSSD and SDNN), sleep duration, sleep score, readiness score, body weight, SpO2, and respiratory rate when recorded in Intervals.icu.
Profile, thresholds & calendar context: Sport settings (FTP, LTHR, and max heart rate) sync into your Primed profile on connect and via webhook, and Coach can also read your athlete profile (weight, resting heart rate, timezone), zone tables, and Intervals.icu calendar events (90 days past and 365 days ahead) in conversation.
Export & upstream limits
Read-only import into Primed (no calendar export): As shown in the recording, Primed connects with read-only permissions (View for Activities, Wellness, Calendar, and Settings) and does not push workouts or training plans back to your Intervals.icu calendar. (For indoor cycling, Coach can generate a downloadable .zwo workout file for Zwift on request.)
Strava-sourced activities are not forwarded: Due to Strava API restrictions, Intervals.icu cannot forward full data for activities that originated from Strava. Connecting Intervals.icu does not bring Strava-sourced workouts into Primed.
Other upstream sources & deduplication: Activities synced to Intervals.icu from sources that allow API forwarding (such as Garmin, Wahoo, Zwift, COROS, Polar, or Suunto) can be imported, and Primed tracks origin provenance so sessions are not double-counted if you also connect Garmin or Apple Health directly.
Scoped to your Intervals.icu permissions: Connecting Intervals.icu only shares data exposed through your Intervals.icu account and approved scopes—it does not grant direct access to your Garmin or Strava accounts.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Common questions.
Clear answers on how the Intervals.icu connection, permissions and plans work.
Yes. Primed is built to work alongside Intervals.icu, not replace it. Keep using Intervals.icu for your analysis, charts and training calendar, and use Primed when you want to talk through recent sessions, how you’re feeling or how to adjust your week.
What data can Primed access?
Primed only reads the Intervals.icu categories you approve during authorisation: on initial connect, Primed imports up to 180 days of non-Strava activity summaries and daily wellness records (fetching your most recent 28 days first) along with your sport settings (FTP, LTHR, and max heart rate). During a coaching conversation, Coach can also read your athlete profile, zone settings, calendar events, interval splits, and high-resolution activity streams on demand. Due to Strava API restrictions, activities synced to Intervals.icu from Strava cannot be forwarded to Primed.
Do I need Primed Pro?
No. Connecting Intervals.icu, bringing in your training history, talking with Coach, and receiving daily guidance are included in Primed Free ($0). Primed Pro ($19.99 USD/month or $129.99 USD/year) is optional and adds longer-term coaching memory across weeks and deeper pattern insights.
Yes. Disconnecting Intervals.icu in Primed (Settings → Connections) or from your Intervals.icu account settings immediately revokes Primed’s OAuth token and stops any future access or syncing. Disconnecting stops future sync; it does not automatically delete activities or wellness data already imported into your Primed history. To permanently delete all imported data and conversations, use Settings → Account → Delete Account in Primed.
